People Love Games

People love games. Whether it’s a board or card game or a game for computer play, they are fun and popular.
People have played games since the beginning of time. Games were first played with everyday items such as rocks and now we have games of every kind and about every subject for almost every age.
Think of the card games that have been around for years: Solitaire, Pitch, Old Maid, Bridge, Go Fish and War. People have been entertained by card games for a very long time and they are still played today.
Board games like Monopoly, Clue, and Sorry were games we played as children that are still being played. Add some of the newer ones like Trivial Pursuit, Apples to Apples and Pictionary. New games are being designed all the time.
Some family card games include Uno and Phase 10 and a few of the newer family board games are Mall Madness and Hello Kitty. Scrabble still remains a favorite as does Catch Phrase, Chess and Backgammon.
There are also lots of computer games including the old Intellivision. Our family had one years ago and last Christmas our son purchased one for us on E-bay. We have enjoyed playing all the old games like Lock N Chase and Burger Time. That system is just the right speed for us older folks.
You can play internet games on your computer. There are thousands of games available. Most internet games can be downloaded for a free trial. You can play against other players too which makes the internet games challenging as well as fun.
You can rent computer games from your video stores. This allows you to try the game before you buy it. With all the games to choose from this is a good idea, Most of these games are one or two player games and cover many subjects. They are rated according to how appropriate they are concerning violence, language and subject matter. There are Playstation 2 games as well as games for other computer systems like X-Box.
Games are still a wonderful way to spend leisure time. Choose a card or board game for your family or settle in for an evening of Pc gaming. It’s all lots of fun!

Formula D Racing Video Podcasts on iTunes

Formula D Racing Video Podcasts on iTunes

Are you a fan of Formula D Racing? If you are, there is a good chance that you will enjoy watching the sport, just about any chance that you get. Unfortunately, like many other sports, Formula D Racing, also commonly referred to as Formula Drifting, only takes place at certain times and on certain courses. For that reason, you may find it difficult to get your drifting fix. If this is the case, you do not have to worry; you will find that you have a number of different ways to watch Formula D Racing or other drifting programs.

When you think of drifting programs or Formula D events, that are not live, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? If you are like many other Americans, you would respond with television. Recently, the Formula D Series partnered with G4TechTv, also commonly referred to as G4TV. This popular television channel is most commonly known as a gaming channel. One of the reasons why Formula D is shown on this television station is due to the fact that Formula D or Formula Drifting is sponsored by the game Need for Speed. This is the connecting link between drifting and this popular television gaming network.

As nice as it would be to watch programs on Formula D, not everyone is able to. This is because the G4 channel is often perceived as a specialty channel. It is not available with all cable or satellite programming packages. In fact, to gain access to this channel, many cable and satellite providers need to purchase one of the highest costing programming packages. Unfortunately, this is something that not everyone can afford. However, if you do have access to a computer and the internet, you can still enjoy Formula D Racing programs. You can do this by using iTunes.

If you have the internet, watch television, or listen to the radio, there is a good chance that you have heard of iTunes before. iTunes is a program that is created by Apple. It allows you to legally download short movies, podcasts, music videos, as well as music. One of the podcasts that you can find on iTunes is centered on Formula Drifting. These podcasts are presented by G4. What is nice about these podcasts, unlike many of the other items that can be found on iTunes, is that they are free. Essentially, this means that you can easily view these podcasts, without having to pay a thing.

Once you have iTunes installed on your computer, you should be able to use the search feature to find Formula Drifting podcasts. You may want to search with the words Formula D, Formula Drifting, or Drifting. Once the results are displayed, you should be able to find a number of results. G4 is planning on adding additional podcasts, but currently you can find twelve podcasts that are available for viewing. These podcasts not only include clips from recent drifting events, but they also have other focuses. You can find information on the cars cooling systems, as well as information on the drivers. The length of each podcast varies, but most are around two minutes long.

If you don’t already have iTunes installed on your computer, you will need to install the program. You can easily obtain the download file for this program by visiting www.itunes.com. Like the Formula Drifting podcasts, you will also find that it is free to download and install iTunes on your computer. The only time that you will be charged is if you make the decision to purchase other entertainment items, such as a music album. Other than purchasing other items, which are clearly labeled for sale, it is completely free to view Formula D podcasts, which, as previously mentioned, are presented by G4TV.

Although these Formula Drifting podcasts are fairly short in size, you will still find them useful, fun, and exciting. Whether you are looking to learn more about the sport or you just want to pass the time, you are advised to examine iTunes and the Formula D podcasts that are available.

PlayStation 3 Launch Dates you Should Not Miss

PlayStation 3 Launch Dates you Should Not Miss

Video game consoles are on the loose. Since the Magnavox Odyssey era, video gaming systems are evolving to become one of the most powerful machines in the entertainment industry that ever existed. From the simple animation and mono background game music during the Atari years, video game consoles nowadays will make you feel that you are the one fighting monsters, racing with other cars, or shooting the ball to the hoop right in front of your opponent because of advanced three-dimensional animation technology, thanks to game software developers.

Thus, do not be surprised if video game consoles are now on the transition to the so-called “seventh generation”. Despite of the video game crash in 1977 wherein many game manufacturers abandoned the game console manufacturing industry due to unpopularity, gaming firms who have left in the battlefield tried to win the hearts of the gaming public, especially the younger generation, by producing high-quality games compatible to their consoles. And with the success of these gaming firms, video game consoles stand to its popularity among gamers of varying age groups, which eventually paved the way to the birth of the seventh generation of video game consoles.

The seventh generation began by the introduction of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in November 2005, following the huge success of its predecessor, the Xbox. Since then, rival game console manufacturers began producing new genres of video game consoles, each one having unique characteristic from its rival consoles or predecessors alike. Thus, the generation is branded to be a “console war” in the history of interactive entertainment.

Following the success of Sony Corporation’s PlayStation 1 and 2, they are determined to maintain their dominance in the game console market. Thus, in May 16, 2005 at the E3 Conference, Japan’s leading electronic company, under its computer entertainment subsidiary, formally unveiled to the public the latest member of the PlayStation 3 series—the PlayStation 3 (PS3). It is expected to compete with its two rival game consoles, which are the Nintendo’s Wii and the Xbox 360.

PlayStation 3 is scheduled to be released on the following launch dates:

• The first release is scheduled in November 11, 2006 at Japan.
• Six days after the Japan debut, PS3’s launch date in Canada and United States would be on November 17 of the same year.
• On the other hand, the launch date of PS3 on Australasia and Europe is scheduled to be on March 2007, with the definite date pending on the decision of Sony Corporation.

On these launch dates, Sony has plans of releasing two different configurations for the PlayStation 3. The first one is known as the “premium version”, where the video game console will come with a 60 GB internal hard drive with multiple flash memory card readers and Wi-Fi or wireless internet connectivity. The other is known as the “alternate configuration” in which the video game console will come in lower internal hard drive (20 GB to be exact) and without Wi-Fi connectivity and memory card reader features, though the hard drive of the alternate configuration can be upgraded and memory card support can be added through the use of adapters.

Despite of the different launch dates of PlayStation 3, it is expected to be a hit for countries where it would be initially released. Watch out for the launch dates mentioned above and experience the interactive entertainment courtesy of PlayStation 3.
